Mary Earhart began her career in governmental accounting over 30 years ago in a regional accounting office in central Virginia specializing in local government, non-profit, and HUD audits, including Single Audits of federal funding. During her 14-year tenure there, she rose through the ranks from junior accountant to senior accountant to manager to Partner and finally Director of Quality Control. She left the firm in 2006 to start her own practice, specializing in the niche business of accounting consulting to local governments. With her practice, Mary focused on helping local governments with small software implementations, providing interim assistance during client staff vacancies, but primarily assisting local governments prepare for their annual financial statement audits. Mary also served her community by preparing income tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
Mary joined her firm with Rodefer Moss in August 2023 with the goal of collaborating with the existing Rodefer Moss governmental team to build a stronger team that could continue to deliver quality services but improve on administrative efficiencies. Working with a larger team will also allow work to be divided among managers so as not to overload a small number of staff, so that responsiveness to client needs can be met in a timelier manner.
