David Nelson brings over 60 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong focus on Transaction Advisory Services. His expertise spans complex business acquisitions, strategic financial structuring, and due diligence, helping clients navigate critical transitions with confidence. David has played a key role in advising companies on mergers and acquisitions, leveraging his deep understanding of tax implications, financing structures, and risk assessment.
Before joining the firm in 2003, David spent nine years with Ernst & Young, where he worked in their National Tax Department in Washington, D.C., specializing in high-level tax strategy. Beyond public accounting, his leadership experience includes serving as Chief Financial Officer of a large regional banking organization with over $1 billion in combined assets and as President of a mortgage banking and real estate development company. His hands-on involvement in corporate finance, SEC compliance, and real estate development gives him a unique perspective when advising clients on transaction strategies.
David has also been instrumental in structuring successful acquisitions, including coordinating a tender offer for a national bank and leading multi-state real estate development projects. His extensive consulting background includes business valuation, capital acquisition, construction financing, forensic accounting and compliance matters.
